Alarm System and Facility Access:  In a constant effort to keep our facilities, preschool children, staff, etc. safe each Event/Group Leader MUST be responsible for securing the building following any gatherings.  If doors are unlocked or windows opened during your function they must be secured before leaving the premises AND the alarm must be set if you or your group is the last to exit the building.  If these practices are not followed through with we will have no other alternative but to strictly limit access to the building.  Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Easter Choir Rehearsals Please help us fill the choir loft for the Palm Sunday Musical! Rehearsals are Wednesdays in the Music Room at 7:45 Hope to see you there!

A Grand New Day, Women’s Bible Study! Intro to the study begins Monday, February 1 at 9:30am in the parlor. This is a 12 week Bible Study group.  Come and join us for fun, fellowship and group discussions.  Contact Stephanie Pelletier at stephaniepelletier2009@yahoo.com for more info.

Early Birds:  Join us Sundays at 8:30am for a Bible Study in Room 223.

Sunday Morning Studies at 9:45am: Try out any of the Bible Studies that are going on.  Classroom locations are: 256 (VanBuren Rm), 244, 221 (Music Rm), 227 & 229.

Keenager Events:  We’ll be departing Wednesday, March 24th for Reynolda House at 9:30 am.  We will be having a late lunch, so be sure to pack a snack if needed.  The April excursion to Hickory Crawdads Baseball Game has been cancelled. In May the Keenagers will go to Flatrock Playhouse to see Steel Magnolias.  Contact Dianne ASAP if interested.

Donations Needed:  We’re now collecting Stumpy Creek concessions stand items:  20 oz. Gatorade (any flavor), 16 oz. Water Bottles, (canned) Coke Products.  Items can be dropped off outside the Youth Office (Room 255).  Thank you for your support of youth ministry programs!!

Rocky Mount Car Magnets:  The Community Outreach and Evangelism Committee is selling Rocky Mount car magnets for $5 each. Angels On Call Ministry We have many strong "angel" volunteers ready to help wherever or whenever needed! Look for an Angel Box (available around the church) and complete a form detailing the needed assistance. We can provide transport to medical appointments, run errands, take non-drivers shopping, sit with sick children or the elderly, provide meals, be a telephone check-in pal, make weekly visits, or help with minor home repair or yard needs. If you know of church or community members who are in need, please let us help! Use request link at the bottom of the homepage to ask for assistance. We also need your financial support to make this ministry successful. Please make your contribution to RMUMC with "Angels on Call" in the memo area of the check. Thank you!

Kids Helping Kids is an account set up for needy children in the Mooresville area. If you feel led to give, your donation will be used to help kids from local schools with things such as field trips, school supplies, Christmas presents, etc. All donations may be placed in the offering plate or through online offerings throughout the year.

Haiti Earthquake Relief is an account set up to assist quake victims in Haiti. If you feel led to give, your donation will be used to help the millions of people who are affected and thousands are feared dead. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is assessing the people's needs and responding with supplies, food, clean water, medical care, and materials. ONGOING ACTIVITIES

Physical Fitness/Health Classes:  Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 8-9am in the fellowship hall; Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm - Cardio-Sculpt in the Fellowship Hall.  All classes are FREE of charge.  All levels/experiences are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Honorarium & Memorial Guidelines:  Please specify what the donation is for such as; Building/Capital Fund, Van/Bus, Cemetery, Good Samaritan, Drama, Music, etc.  Legibly write or print the correct name and address of the person giving the donation, and the person receiving the donation, gifts given for a Church Member’s family member, please state the name and relation of the family member.  (Sample Donation:  In Memory of John Doe, Susan Doe’s grandfather), and this will assure correct connections to acknowledge the family.  Keep in mind acknowledgements are usually only sent to Church Members if requested, although if you prefer one to be sent to a non-member, please clearly specify so.  These important steps will allow us to keep accurate account information for your tax receipts and send correct acknowledgment responses.  If you have questions, call Carla at 704-528-5525 or Kay Edwards at 704-528-6379.

Library Duplicates Book Sale:  Look at books for sale, displayed in the Commons and Fellowship Hall area.  You may buy hard cover books for $1 each and paperback books for 50 cents each.  Money will be used to buy library supplies.

Calling All Greeters:  We need volunteers who are willing to serve as greeters for any of our services.  You would be welcoming visitors and members to the service; directing them to various areas of the church if needed; and help to make them feel a part of our wonderful family here at Rocky Mount.  If you would like to be added to the rotating schedule or for more information, please contact Teresa Wallace at 704-400-0890.

Volunteers Needed on a rotating basis to help assemble Sunday worship bulletins & tidy up the Sanctuary usually on Fridays from 1:30pm until about 3pm.  The schedule does change slightly around holidays due to office closings.  This is a very simple way to serve within the church, and the more people who volunteer—the less each person would be on the schedule.  If you’d like to help out or for more information, contact Carla at the church office at 704-528-5525.

Nursery Helpers: We’re in need of workers to help out with the nursery rotation.  Our desire is to have a constant presence during our Sunday School Hour (9:45am) for the children.  This is great peace of mind for our parents and consistency for our babies.  If you have a child in nursery we are asking that you sign up to serve three (3) times between now and fall of next year.  Thanks in advance for prayerfully considering this ministry.  You can sign up in the nursery or contact Leslie Baker at 704-658-1100 for more info.

CD’s & DVD’s Available: We offer CD’s of the 8:30am & DVD’s of the 11am Worship Celebrations and holiday events.  They’re located in the commons area in the black box labeled “CD’s & DVD’s of the 8:30am & 11am Worship Celebrations”.  If no copies are available in the box for the date or event you prefer, please see the sign up sheet beside the box and indicate copies you prefer.

Cell-ebrate Our Children - Please stand out and make a difference in our community.  Donate an old or broken cell phone and help save a child’s life age 0-16.  Cell-ebrate Our Children is a non-profit organization created to care for families with children who have special needs, such as organ transplants, medical costs and heavy financial burdens.  Please consider donating any old, broken or unused cell phones you may have.  The collection box is located in the church office with tax donation receipts attached.  You can receive a tax deduction for the value of up to $40 per phone. 

Work Crew: June 12th-25th in Cleveland, TN.  This opportunity is for rising juniors & sophomores this year and older through college to serve in ministry.  If you have questions, visit www.ycmhome.org. Deadline is March 11th.

 Blood pressure checks 2nd Sunday each month in the Health Ministries NEW room (238) from 9:30-9:45am & 10:45-11am. Check out the brochures rack for more information to improve your health and well-being. 

The Methodist Men encourage men of all ages to get involved with the fellowship, service and spiritual growth opportunities available with this great group!

Men’s Bible Study: We are beginning a new study of Philippians on Thursday night March 4th, “Joy of Jesus." This is open to all men of all ages and is expected to be a 6-8 week study.  Length of study depends on involvement of the men present.  Meetings are 7-8:30pm. We’d like to fill the Fellowship Hall for these few weeks...see you there!!!
