Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at Rocky Mount is a vibrant and important part of the church’s worship. Participants are able to grow spiritually by praising God through song or instruments.

The Chancel Choir is open to all Adults and Youth and sings at the 8:30 am and 11:00 am Worship Celebrations. Auditions are not required.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 pm – 8:30 pm in the Music Room. The choir also presents musicals at Christmas and Easter. 

The Adoration Ringers is an Adult and Youth handbell choir. This is an auditioned group as members must have basic music reading skills. If you are interested in ringing, contact the Director of Music because we do have openings periodically. This choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 pm – 7:10 pm, September through April and takes a summer break. The handbell choir rings monthly during Sunday morning Worship Celebrations and presents a Christmas Concert.  

The Praise Team and Praise Band provide music for the Contemporary Worship Celebration at 9:45 am and Café’ Grace at 10:45 am. This is an auditioned group. Currently we are in need of guitarists. Please contact the Director of Music for more information. 

The KidsChoir is a children’s choir for grades K – 5. Auditions are not required. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, 4:45 pm – 5:15 pm in the Music Room. This choir will present a Christmas Musical on Sunday, December 14 at 6:00 pm.

There are other musical opportunities available. Timpani and Percussion are used at the 8:30 am and 11:00 am Worship Celebrations.

Other orchestral instruments are also used periodically based on availability. Please contact the Director of Music to schedule an audition.
